| Yesterday, our church choir practice a new song which I love both the melody and the lyrics very much. The song is called "Be Still, My Soul".
Then I found out that this song somehow related to a famous British missionary in China, his name is called Eric Liddell. Maybe some of you have been already familiar with this missionary. Yes! He is the man who won the Olympic 400m Gold madel, and refused to race on Sunday, and eventually this story became the movie called "The Chariot of Fire"!
This hymn was reported as the favorite of Eric Liddell. During his ministery in China, he was imprisoned in WWII. He taught this hymn to others in the prison camp where he eventually died of a brain tumor.

I went to a concert with my church friends tonight and that was really very nice concert. Originally, we thought that the position we sat were not very good, since the piano lover like Philip said he could only watch the pianist¡¦s back. However, for me, I think the position was just perfect, because it enabled me to watch the flutists very clearly. By this time, I know where to sit when watching a symphony concert. Moreover, I paid great attention to those flutists fingers, (you see how weird I am, I looked at those ladies fingers all night long!), and now I know how to put my right hand little finger on the flute!
Overall, the concert was touching and appealing. Personally, I like the first half better, as the flute was one of the main characters other than the piano. Nonetheless, the second half was also very good, it was powerful, emotional and colorful.
P.S.: Great Spicy Dinner before concert
Before the concert, we met at TST and went to a nice ¨Ê¤tº resteurant where Philip and I have tried that previously. We specially ordered, extremely spicy dish to test the girl's limit. However, we had a quite disappointing answer, because all of them said it was not as spicy as we said! What!?!? All of your limits are out of my imagination!!!! Indeed, we did have a really nice and delicious dinner tonight.
| Recently, I don't have anything to write about, as my life was kind of routine. However, thankful that during these weeks, there is peace. | | |
| The advance development of biotechnology should be able to increase the standard of human living and medication. However, does it really archive this goal? I doubted!
Recently, I read an article about a family with many members died from early onset of gastric carcinoma. When they performed the genotyping among the whole family, sadly, they discovered that the whole family is containing a predisposing gene for gastric carcinoma, which lead them to have 70% more chance to develop cancer than normal people. When you realise that you are actually carrying a bomb that you don't know when will it explode, what do you feel? What will you do? Oh well, for this family, they have made a very "wise" decision, which is performing gastrectomy for every family member in order advoid the risk of gastric cancer! (However, according to my knowledge, they are still have risk for developing other cancers!!)
Starting from now, they have to live with a special life with special diet for the rest of their life, and I am sure their standard of living must be affected. I am not trying to critize them, as a matter of fact, I don't know if I still make the same decision as them when I have the same situation. My point is when technology getting advance, some bad things appear just because of this.
